Family Faith Formation
Faith begins at home and grows within the life of the Church. Family Faith Formation at St. Bernadette helps children and their families deepen their knowledge of the Catholic faith, grow closer to Christ, and build a life centered on prayer and the sacraments.
Growing in Faith, Together
St. Bernadette’s Family Faith Formation program—also known as “CCD”—invites the entire family to grow in faith together.
While children participate in their classes, parents and other adult family members are invited to join our pastor for engaging adult faith formation. These sessions offer meaningful discussion, practical teaching, and opportunities to deepen your relationship with Christ.
-
Students grow in their understanding of Scripture, Catholic teaching, prayer, and life in Christ. Formation follows the St. Joseph Catechism and the grade-level expectations established by the Diocese of Lafayette.
-
Second-grade formation prepares children to encounter the mercy of Christ in Reconciliation and receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time.
-
Eighth-grade students prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and respond more fully to the grace and mission given through the Holy Spirit.
-
Parents and family members are encouraged to continue their own faith journey during class time. Adult sessions with our pastor help families learn together and carry the Catholic faith into everyday life at home.
